Hunters are responsible for knowing the exact current boundary locations as described within the California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 300(b)(1)(A)3:3. Area Open Zone Descriptions: a. Northern Zone: Includes the counties of Alpine, Butte, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lassen, Mendocino, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity.b. Southern Zone: Includes the balance of the state not included in the northern zone described above.
